There are many Dudley Borough Clinics where you can get support, advice and a full range of contraception including implants and coils, pills, patches, the contraceptive injection, emergency contraception, termination of pregnancy referrals, Chlamydia screening and free condoms.

You can either go to the clinic yourself or be sent by a health professional/ GP. Access to any of the clinics is either by walk in or appointment. Anyone who just walks in will be seen on a first come first served basis, however if you can’t be seen on that day they will offer you another appointment.

The centre offers free crisis pregnancy support for people faced with an unplanned pregnancy and who are unsure of what option to choose. Counselling is available for anyone, male or female, seeking help following a miscarriage or termination of pregnancy, post abortion counselling, miscarriage support and support when a baby is born but dies soon after. You can also get a free confidential pregnancy testing service, condoms and Chlamydia testing kits.

You can self refer to the British Pregnancy Advice Service (BPAS) For appointment bookings and advice, please contact: 08457 304030 www.bpas.org/   You may be seen in Brierley Hill, Wolverhampton or Birmingham (which ever is quickest) for counselling.  Early medical abortion (under 9 weeks) is also available for appropriate women.

You can also contact Marie Stopes 0345 300 8090 or by visiting their website www.mariestopes.org.uk who have limited appointments for early medical abortion (under 9 weeks) for appropriate women in Stourbridge.

Referrals can also be made by your GP (family doctor) or by any other health professional. Counselling will be offered and arranged within 2 weeks of the referral to discuss your feelings and to make sure you are making the right decision for you. You will be checked to see if you are healthy and how many weeks pregnant you are. If everything is OK you can consent to a surgical or medical procedure.
